Stoke Gabriel is a delightful South Devon village situated on a creek of the Dart Estuary and equidistant from Paignton, Dartmouth and Totnes. The historic village is famous for its stunning scenery, the Mill Pond and crab fishing, which has previously featured in the Guardian Newspaper as being the UK’s top Crabbing Hotspot, making Stoke Gabriel not only an extremely popular tourist destination but also a great destination for locals to visit throughout the year. The River Shack Café & Bistro is located between the beautiful River Dart Estuary and the tranquil Mill Pond, a truly stunning and unique waterside location. The premises are smartly decorated with quality fixtures & fittings and a well-equipped commercial kitchen which has recently been updated. The menu offers a range of breakfasts, lite bites, lunch and dinner and a specials menu alongside a children’s menu and the new Ice Cream Shack. Roasts are available on Sundays. This lock up unit is fully licenced and currently trades throughout the year, 9.30am -10.30pm seven days a week from Easter to November, reducing to 5 days a week, closed Monday and Tuesday, and only 2 evenings a week, Friday and Saturday over the winter months. The River Shack has built up the evening trade over the last few years and has become very popular for dinner, BBQ’s, private functions and club meetings as well as a quiet drink whilst appreciating the impressive scenery. The River Shack has even hosted four weddings!
