At the mouth of this beautiful river lies the lively and vibrant town of Dartmouth. A global destination for tourists who come to see the world-famous Britannia Royal Naval College, wonderful architecture and of course the picturesque waterfront; which attracts water enthusiasts throughout the year, providing a variety of recreational activities to suit all tastes. There are regular events in Dartmouth including: The Dart Music festival in May, the extraordinary Dartmouth Royal Regatta in August and the Dartmouth Food festival in October. Dartmouth is often used as a base to explore the South Hams, a well-known area in Devon for its Outstanding Natural Beauty; along with Dartmoor National Park which is situated less than half an hour's drive away.
